The Teesside Smart Home project began with an ambitious plan to combine two existing bungalows into one massive property. Art of Smart was involved from the start, working closely with the client and his family to create their dream space. We provided every service we offer, covering the entire property from front to back.
To provide privacy for the client's teenage children, they created two separate wings within the home. The property underwent an extensive pre-wire to future-proof it, and we collaborated with Oval Renewables to install and integrate solar panels and battery storage systems to ensure the home was as energy-efficient as possible. Motion sensors were also installed throughout the property to ensure lights were only on when needed.
Every room in the house includes in-ceiling speakers, with the main living space featuring a discrete yet powerful in-ceiling subwoofer that projects sound through a small letterbox opening. Video distribution is connected throughout the home, and access points for Wi-Fi are spread throughout. All bathrooms have speakers, with the master bathrooms even featuring TVs.
The client also wanted an outdoor space for entertaining guests, so we installed an integrated fire pit, complete with outdoor audio zones, colour-changing LED strips, and a hot tub TV that is also connected to the video system. The client's man cave features a small bar, garden lighting controls, video distribution, and a Ruckus access point to ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal even outside the home.
The client, who spends most of the day away from home, wanted to ensure that his property was secure. We achieved this through a comprehensive CCTV system, gate controls for deliveries, and a video intercom for communicating with guests. The front of the property also includes an electric car charger for the client's vehicle.
Overall, Our Teesside Smart Home is an excellent example of high-quality technology being utilised while still being energy-efficient through smart renewable integration.
